Event Overview
As small business owners, it’s in our best interest to get paid on a 1099 business-to-business basis so we can maximize our tax deductions and retirement contributions. (Remember, "Friends Don’t Let Friends W-2TM")
In this workshop with PICA’s General Counsel, you’ll learn how to:
- Qualify as an independent business (as an independent contractor)
- Legally hire subcontractors
- Understand and negotiate client contracts
Format: Web workshop. Slides will be shared but participation is encouraged, either verbally or by typing in questions online.
About the host:
PICA's General Counsel, Henry Telfeian, is an expert in employment and labor law, having handled contracts, labor disputes, arbitrations, and litigation over the last 35 years. A cum laude graduate of Harvard Law School, he’s an active member of the State Bar of California and of various federal courts including the U.S. Supreme Court.
