About the Session:

As small business owners, it’s in our best interest to get paid on a 1099 business-to-business basis so we can maximize our tax deductions and retirement contributions. (Remember, “Friends Don’t Let Friends W-2TM)

In this workshop with PICA’s General Counsel you'll learn how to: 

  • Qualify as an independent business (as an independent contractor)

  • Legally hire subcontractors

  • Understand and negotiate client contracts

PICA’s lawyer will also give an update on the pushback against California’s AB 5, and updates on similar legislation pending in other states.

About the host:
